My friend recently told me that she is interested in Environmental Humanities – a growing field that expands the study of the environment beyond scientific discourse to include human perception and imagination. She sent me a paper about the “more than human” world but admitted that, even as an academic librarian, she found it dry and hard to get through. This week, I decided to build out the “Library” section to add another category called “The More than Human World” which includes podcasts, articles, and books. Interconnected to this topic, I also added a page “Indigenous Science and Relationship with the Land.” Indigenous societies, with their close relationship to the land, retain a deep understanding and respect for the more than human world that has been often lost to a Western worldview. I hope you enjoy exploring these suggestions.
